Every year students are wasting paper, schools are consistently replacing damaged and outdated textbooks, and the government spends more capital with little improvement in classroom efficiency and communication. The Nintendo Memo aims to leverage today's technology to connect and encourage students in an updated environment to have a more engaging and fulfilling education.
Florida's school districts lose at least 5 percent of their instructional materials each year, and that financial loss over the past five years could top $63 million.
About 2,502,400 pages are wasted per 400 students. The average student uses about 11 sheets a day. With an average of 180 school days a year, that equals 23,760 over 12 years.
The average teenager sends and receives 2,272 texts each month (almost 80 text messages daily).
“93% of teens have a computer or access to one... About three in four (74%) teens ages 12-17 are “mobile internet users” who say they access the internet on cell phones, tablets, and other mobile devices at least occasionally.”
High school students ages 14-18 are constantly connected and updating each other. It is now time to combine the student's capabilities and comfort using digital technology with the learning process in a classroom. Nintendo Memo can provide students a new opportunity to quickly communicate thoughts, debate ideas, and learn from each other.
